Modules

The Approval for Jira app comprises five modules: Project Setting, Issue Panel, Approvals Tab, Issue Activity, and Migration Approval.

To begin, users must access the Project Setting module to set up an API token required for processes within the app.

Note:

  • You must use the email which has permission to access Jira Cloud Instance.

  • Only Jira admin of this instance is available.

Why we need Jira API token:

  • Approval for Jira support sends email notifications to users when they are assigned as the approver for a newly created issue.

Project Setting

Overview

The app simplifies the process of creating approval commands within the Project Setting module.

These commands monitor newly created issues, and if these issues meet the criteria of the approval command, it automatically generates approvals in the application's issues panel.
The app allows users to create email templates for sending reminders and notifications when an issue is created matching the approval command setup.

Functional

Inside the Project Setting module, the application has 3 sub-modules:

1. Approvals

2. Emails

3. Project Audit Log

Note: Only the Project Admin of this Project can use the Audit Log module.

Issue Panel

 

 

Overview

Approval location where users view and act on approvals generated from approval commands within an issue. Allows approving or rejecting.

Functional

Inside the Issue Panel module, application supports:

1. Display Approvals on Issue.

2. Action “approve“ or “reject“.

Approvals Tab (On implementation)

Overview

This section enables users to view pending actions that require their approval, as well as a history of past approvals made by the user.

Functional

Inside the Approval Tabs module, application have 2 sub-modules:

1. View Past Approval

2. View Pending Approval

Issue Activity

Overview

This section documents all the approval actions that took place within the issue.

Users have the ability to track who has approved the issue.

Functional

Inside the Issue Activity module, the application supports:

1. Display log of user action on Issue.

Approval Migration

Overview

This section provides guidance on how to migrate approval commands from the source project to another project.

Functional

Inside the Approval Migration module, the application supports:

1. Approval Migration.
