SMTP server with Basic Authentication
A sysyem administrator can configure their own SMTP mail server to send CSAT survey emails by going to the Mail Configuration page on App navigation page.
Notes: CSAT Mail Server is activated by default. CSAT survey emails will be sent from csat@softcandylio.com.
Custom SMTP mail server
To configure a custom SMTP mail server, click the “Configure your own SMTP mail server“ button.
The admin must enter the required fields and test the connection before saving the configuration. The “Save” button is disabled until the connection has been tested successfully.
If the connection is not tested successfully, an error section will be shown at the top of the page and the admin needs to double check the mail settings:
When using host: smtp.office365.com, to ensure appropriate operation, the protocol field must be set to SMTP.
If the connection is tested successfully, a success message will be shown at the top of the page:
Important Note: Even after the connection is tested successfully and the new SMTP mail server is saved, the admin should send a test email and check if that email arrives the destination.
When saving and activating the configuration successfully, the user will be redirected to the SMTP information page:
Admin can switch to CSAT Mail Server by clicking the respective radio button.
Admin can change the SMTP configuration by clicking the Edit link.
Send a test email
Admin can send a test email by clicking “Send a test email“ link.
Administrator can change some information in this form and click “Send“ button to send a test email.
To check if a test email was successfully sent, the administrator can view the mail log.
